Susan was born in Winnipeg, Canada. After leaving Canada with her family for Scottsdale, Arizona she graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design. She moved to Los Angeles and began working for Walt Disney Imagineering as a graphic designer. After leaving Disney she continued to work as the lead graphic designer for Hilton Hotels Corporation.

After retiring from graphics Susan began handcrafting jewelry from sterling silver and a variety of semi precious stones. She is continuously introducing new pieces into her collection and sells to a wide array of clients from all over the world. She especially enjoys custom designing pieces to her clients needs. She has been living in Calabasas, California with her husband Tim. They have a daughter and son in college.
